Why Hearing Aids Cost What They Do
Hearing aid prices on this site run from $98 to $4,898 for a pair. Three things in the data explain most of that spread.
1. Technology levels under one name
Fitted models are listed as ranges because each name covers several levels. Starkey Signature Series tops the list at $3,198 to $4,898. Among the provider-fitted models the median range starts at $2,798 and ends at $3,998, a median spread of $1,200 within a single model name.
2. Where it is sold
The same maker can appear in more than one channel: Jabra Enhance's Pro 30 is a fitted package at Costco, while its Select models are sold OTC direct and at Sam's Club. See by channel.
3. What service is attached
A fitted price pays for programming to a hearing test and later adjustments; an OTC price mostly pays for devices and an app. The bundled vs unbundled guide prices the extras one seller lists.

Questions
Why do prices for one hearing aid model vary so much?
Many fitted models are sold in several technology levels under one name, so a seller prints a range. On this site the widest range is shown on the price list.
